Spring/Summer Traditions Here at Home

Spring/Summer Traditions Here at Home

Hello Friends!

We have had so much going on and have failed miserably at keeping you up to date with projects, ideas, deals, happenings and overall how we are doing! Maybe its just the season we are in as the weather has certainly warmed up here in South Carolina after having an actual Spring...

Once the warmer weather starts to move in, the warmer temps in the ocean begin to move up the coast and the fishing both inland and offshore get on fire! So its fair to say, we have been doing a lot of fishing this year! Fill the freezer while we can, the prices at the meat market surely are not going down.

So, one of our traditions here at home is we like to have "Beaufort Stew" "Low Country Boil" "Shrimp Boil" "Frogmore Stew" or just a beer drinking time and eat some great food! Well, everyone does it differently but here is how I do ours:

  • Feeds 20+ people.
  • 10 ears summer corn, cut into thirds
  • 1-2 bags red potatoes
  • 4lb kielbasa sausage
  • bag of baby onions
  • 20 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 3 bags brussel sprouts
  • 5lb fresh SC jumbo Shrimp, deveined with shell on
  • Crab Legs or Whole Blue Crab (if your pot is big enough)
  • 1 bag of lemons, squeezed first then throw in pot
  • Louisiana Seasoning

We get the water boiling, add the seasoning, potatoes for 10mins on their own, then add the sausage, onions, corn, garlic, brussels, let roll for another 10mins, turn off fire to pot and add the 5lb of shrimp and stir into basket. let sit for 10mins. The longer this sits, the hotter she gets on spice so have your favorite libation ready!

We are going to try a new seasoning from Coastal Badass Co out of Charleston, SC on our next LCB. We had the pleasure of connecting with Lauren to assist with a project she had to grow her business and after tasting her seasoning, I am so glade we were able to connect! Not only does she make, distribute and ship her seasonings, she is an artist and will delivery you a painting that is one-of-a-kind. Check her out www.thecuriousoystersc.com.

Share with us how you like to cook your Beaufort Stews, maybe we can learn something from you! Sharing is Caring! Hope you all have the opportunity to celebrate this year with the Fathers in your lives! Heck, suggest a nice low county boil for him to cook, can't go wrong with it!

Happy Father's Day!

Spread Love. Show Grace. Love Unconditionally.
