Caring for your new wood

Each item is handmade, brand new and a one-of-a-kind! We know you're excited to unpack the board and put it in use! We appreciate your purchase and hope the following info helps too. 

For the items that will be used for food, we use food-grade oils to both penetrate the new wood as well as seal it.  As you use your new piece, it will show how loved it is!  We recommend either wiping off the wood with a clean rag or, if necessary, using mild soapy water and the soft side of a sponge or rag to clean the wood.  Oiling the wood on a regular basis will maintain its luster and lifespan. We recommend using Odies Oil, Mineral Oil, Beeswax or mixture. 

For non-food-grade items, such as wall art, dust with a dry rag. Do not use conventional wood polish/cleaners as this may leave unwanted streaks. Items that have light kits installed, they require either AAA or AA batteries and may need replacement as usage permits. 

Cutting boards are designed to take the use of knives but require additional maintenance based on usage. Contact us to purchase a container of the conditioners used. See above for food grade boards.
